Nice deflection. You've been on the offensive out of the gate in this game. I don't know what your h*rd-on is for me this game, but apparently I appear a good victim in your eyes. You've played these games a long time, and are a very good player, you know exactly how to tweak things to your advantage and this unusual hardball manner you're playing this game is telling.
Deflection of what? Your act of desperation? Have some dignity and just die, so we can get on with another game. You and nies screwed this one up.

No, it looks like AT&T is going to get ride of T Mobiles 3G so make room for 4G LTE.
Its really not a bad idea....turns the purchase of T Mobile into something more then just one time growth. Also unless everyone followed Nokia with pentaband 3G devices, it would start to become a hassle.
http://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=7762
Did you read my comment ? Rogers and Fido, using the same bands, still haven't merged since Rogers' purchase of Microcell. Any plan to "phase out" the 3G bands of T-mobile are not short term as it would require replacing all the current customer bases' phones.
And again, a AWS compatible iPhone makes sense for the short/mid term. Other carriers (Videotron, Wind) in other countries will benefit and it will open up another US carrier to Apple. So people again : Don't let the AT&T/T-mobile merger plans fool you.

What most people are forgetting is that if no iPhone releases in June, I, along with many others will need to purchase the extra AppleCare so my phone still has a warranty.

If I'm paying, I'd rather just have an all-you-can-eat subscription option and be able to stream to any song on iTunes.

Actually, I'd call this bad news. It pretty much confirms that iP5 isn't coming any time soon.
Oh well, maybe iP5 will be shipping by the time Shaw Wireless starts up services in ~ January 2012.

That doesn't say anything remotely similar to "envisioned by apple." either. In fact, from your own article, try this link :
http://www.crunchgear.com/2009/09/30/yeah-apple-wasnt-integral-in-light-peak-transfer-technology/
Let's not give a bigger role to Apple than the one they played.
NO - it does state that Apple had a major role - don't have the interest to get into a tech crunch vs engadget pi$$ing match as to which one is correct BUT there are some articles CITING the point.

No real surprise here. Apple has been charging for MobileMe. Why not this service.
Just ruined my freakin day. I was really hoping it would be an added benefit instead of a paid feature.
Ick.
Why would I pay for that?
Should have bloody known >:(
Well they won't be charging me.
You wouldn't consider paying $20 per YEAR?

I'm interested to see what ends up in this refresh. My MacBook Pro is great, but a good base iMac option could be appealing. My guesses:
Base 21.5"
Quad Core i7 (2.2GHz?); 2x2GB 1333 DDR3; 640GB 7200RPM HDD; ATI Radeon HD 6670; Thunderbolt, ditch Firewire?; 1920x1080
Fully Loaded 27"
3.4GHz Quad Core i7; 4x4GB 1333 DDR3; 512GB SSD & 2TB 7200 RPM HDD; ATI Radeon HD 6870 (1GB); 2560x1440

Both computers now up-and-running. No complaints from the designers regarding poor performance :)
I'm running the standard client, I'll look into the other options when I got some spare time.
It's quite remarkable to see the performance boost compared to my G5 dual 1.8 that's been folding for years.
glad to hear it. just so you know, the bigadv units will get you some big time points. it really is worth it if the machine is fast enough, and i'm pretty sure those are

Is this at the spectrum?
Yes this was at Irvine Spectrum. The Apple guy said to try again tomorrow.
Has anyone heard from Mission Viejo??

Wow, that's unbearably ugly. Looks like we're heading to Tiger's level of random UI elements, right? :(
i prefer the minimalist look to what Apple is changing them to...it does look cartoon-ey.

First, OS X is very much like the last versions of NeXTSTEP was, aside from Quartz/Appkit frameworks and GUI layer. Foundation is basically what was shipping in the 90s, the kernel/BSD userland, etc...
Apple has done a lot of work on it, and I've said so in my posts several times. I'm not diminishing their work in anyway.
Yeah, OS X is pretty much the same. There's nothing that apple has put in it. Most of the frameworks are derived from NeXTSTEP. Happy now?
Again, I'm simply stating that pissing over Google because they "acquired" and used "open source" is quick disingenuous in the face of Apple having done the same for both their flagship OSes.
No one is pissing over google's work. It was a response to one of your s*****[censored] comments, here:
By that same vein, what has Apple ever developed that's anything close to a OS ? And no, Mac OS X, a bunch of components bought/taken from the open source community doesn't count... it's just a Unix distribution with a GUI layer on top.
You replied to a person who was talking about ChromeOS being just a giant browser which is absolutely true.
You sound like one of those people on engadget who are always claiming that Apple has just been copying/modifying stuff and selling it as their own.
How do you know ? You saw Android in 2005 ? You can seriously compare what Andy's company made back then to what is actually shipping now ? The evolution from Android 1.0 to 2.3/3.0 is quite astounding by itself, who knows what went on between 2005 and version 1.0 that shipped in late 2009.
That's not what I meant. I meant that Google buys a lot of companies and makes a lot of acquisitions and sell their product as Google's. There's nothing bad in that. But there's nothing false about it as well. Developing/Not developing Android was never my point.
Why even attempt to diminish the work ? Apple does the same acquisition, they use open source projects to quicken development. The histories are similar, the goals are similar. Why hate Google over it, and why do you think it doesn't also reflect on Apple when you do ?
OK, which company doesn't? Apple does it too. But they are not buying other people's products and just selling them outright. You know you're dreaming when you claim that Mac OS X has very less to do with apple and much to do with every other thing they 'copied'.
I will leave the rest of your post out and just report it to the mods instead. I suggest editing your post to remove your clear lack of respect. If you want to discuss the merits of each at the fine detail, I don't think this is the thread for it. Again, let's drop the Google hate and talk OS X instead.

Are you the one who's talking about lack of respect? Just look at your post history. You call people fools; you tell them they don't know anything.

The show hasn't been officially cancelled. Before today, they shut down production for the last 8 episodes for this season. Today, they fired Sheen and said they are unsure if the show will go on. Knowing Hollywood, they'll go on with a replacement. Oddly, Sheen replaced Michael J. Fox on his show when Fox quit and it went on for another 2 or 3 seasons. They can hire Ted McGinley.

they probably had it in the labs, but the pricing finally came down this year. 3D is a dud and internet enabled TV's dropped in price by 50% in some cases since last summer
if apple doesn't get into this market then itunes is going to be dead in a few years along with other idevices

It's amazing how you like to speak for everyone all the time. I suppose you believe that since you are the center of the Universe that you can speak for everyone all the time. To me, you look like someone that's probably still in high school and fancies himself a master debater.

I'm still not too sure how gestures would work to control such a device unless there was a camera. Have you see the "gestures" video? It would be done by physically touching the iPod. No camera needed.

Don't discount microsoft - they have money to lose for years in trying to get #1 for MP3 - slowly they creep up and overturn Apple - apple doesn't ahve the same stamina.
A long term commitment, not a short term thing.
Awesome! I can't wait for Vista! And now Zune! Who needs those silly Macs?
Uh, why is this on page 1? We already have enough iPod news, now we're going to be following an MS product that doesn't exist yet? C'mon! More grainy photos of elevators! Chop, Chop!

how many people held off on the verizon iPhone 4 thinking there would be a verizon iPhone 5 in June?
Apple's takeover of verizon is still in the early stages.
