There will probably will be a push to utilize WIFI. Unless, of course, you're one of the "chosen" to have their unlimited data plans grandfathered and won't be impacted. ;)

People get beat up for no reason all the time. It doesn't have to do anything with bullying or the victim being a transgender. From what the victim said, the attackers used a standard "excuse" to start a fight. I believe this b/c Darlymple and Gruber belies this.
Trouble with all these statements is that they are forgetting that Apple can return WWDC to the software guys
AND then do a media event as soon as the day after and still release in June/July.
The lack of new component shipments could be simply due to the fact that Apple is using components that also appear in existing products and Apple doesn't spell out what the components are being used for when they order them. So what someone might think is just more chips to fill the ipad 2 demand could be only part that and part for a new phone (for example)

I used to fold with Macrumors a few years ago, as I remember it we had a pretty powerful team, seems now things are waning, and this board has cooled off. I suppose I'm guilty of leaving as well (jumped ship for Penny Arcade, great comic BTW), am I just glossing over old memories or have things actually slowed down?
well, i really can't say since i haven't been folding for that long. but i have noticed a lot of teams pass us while i've been on the team.
i really think the ones that do still fold need to try and get more involved on this forum to get more people to join and stuff.

Quite a few laptops ship with media-software and webcams. Dunno bout remotes though.
Remotes are pretty common too, though it's usually an extra option unless the media version of XP is installed. I can remember looking at a Sony laptop geared towards being a media center with a remote back when the centrino platform first came out and skipping that option when I bought a Dell at the same time. The last sound card I bought also came with one. You're right, nothing innovative there.
I think Apple is starting to slide in this department, though you certainly can't argue with the results in terms of profit. Products are still nice (as I type this on a MBP and dream about the rumored upcoming 8 core MP) but nothing that I look at and think "Wow nobody else is doing this!". I think the last time I thought that was when they released the Airport Express. I'm looking forward to seeing what they will do with a media center box, maybe they will knock my socks off again some day.

OK, I have two problems with this being anything more than just a glitch.
First, it's for developers to define which devices their apps are compatible with. When Apple does bring out a new device, it has never updated the compatibility of existing apps AFAIK.
Second, if there was a new device or iOS>OSX functionality on the way, updating the App store to show compatibility would have been one of the very last stages before (or even after) launch. These are vulnerabilities, which obviously need to be addressed, but just because they found more kernel bugs in OSX, Linux, and BSD, doesn't mean Windows is suddenly 'secure.'

Gain market share for Amazon. Like last year when they sold MP3 albums at a loss.
Apple has proven that market share does not = profitability. I think Apple's focus is right.
I don't see how market share helps Amazon, in this case, if they are losing money on it and have no off-setting profit generated by the loss.
Also, I wonder when this comes into effect. I was just at the Amazon store and most the music I looked at was at $1.29 or $.99 a song - I only saw one $.69 song. Of course, my tastes don't trend toward a lot of pop.

I voted negative on this story. As I was hoping that Apple would concentrate on fixing the sticking scrollbars on the current Mighty Mouses, (or make it easier to open them and clean) before they just made it wireless.
Also, I'n not a big fan of using batteries in mice. Why not have a wireless mouse that is re-chargable? Or one that you can use wires with if the battery gets low?
well, is it possible that they have fixed the issues, we don't know, so don't make suppositions.
Second, if you don't like batteries, go out and buy some lithium-ion AA batteries, they are pretty cheap and work great.

Bowers & Wilkins MM-1 Computer Speakers
I can't really recommend those B&W MM-1 Speakers. My wife uses them (see setup threat somewhere) and the sound really is quite a bummer. The design is awesome though. but for 500 eu or 700 dollars, I really feel it's a NO GO
The Harman Kardon Soundsticks II that I use produce a much better sound at a much better price.
But h�, that's me :rolleyes:

Some people are lying themselves. Of course every high-end laptop will be like the MBA in few-several years. That is the point, getting slimmer, portable and more and more powerful. That's the ideal laptop.
So a MBA with better GPU/CPU is always welcomed.
